Car
If you are traveling by car within Itasy, start from the town of Ambatolampy. Head west on Route Nationale 34 (RN34) for approximately 25 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages along the way. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Lake Itasy. Upon nearing the lake, you will see a fork in the road; take the right fork to arrive at the eastern shores of Lake Itasy. There is a small parking area where you can leave your car.

To reach Lake Itasy via public transportation, go to the main taxi-brousse station in Ambatolampy. Look for a taxi-brousse heading towards Ankazobe or Miarinarivo. The fare is typically around 3,000 Ariary (approximately $0.80). Request the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Lake Itasy, which is usually at the village of Anosibe. From there, you can either walk to the lake (about 1.5 km) or hire a local pousse-pousse (rickshaw) for about 1,000 Ariary ($0.25) to transport you to the lake's edge.
