Getting There

• Walking

  From your accommodation in Mandrare River, begin by heading south towards the main path leading to the river. Follow the path until you reach the banks of the Mandrare River. This should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point. Once you are at the river, look for a local boatman who can assist you with the next leg of your journey.

• Boat

  After finding a boatman, negotiate a price and ask to be taken across the Mandrare River towards the eastern side. The boat ride should take around 30 minutes. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Once you land on the opposite bank, you will need to disembark and continue your journey on foot.

• Walking

  After disembarking from the boat, follow the narrow dirt path that leads eastward into the forested area. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers, keeping an eye out for local signs or waymarkers. The path may be uneven, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes. As you walk, you can enjoy the local flora and fauna.

  Continue following the path until you start to see signs of Lac ANDRIAMBE. As you approach the lake, the terrain will become flatter and you will hear the sounds of water.
