Walking
Start from the center of Toamasina at Place de la République. Head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance, keeping the waterfront on your right. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will reach the intersection with Rue des Pêcheurs. Turn left onto Rue des Pêcheurs and continue straight until you reach the end of the road, where you'll find the Mahavelona beach. From here, you can either continue walking along the beach or take a local boat (if available) to reach Fort Manda, which is situated on the opposite shore.
