Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Antananarivo, take RN1 heading east. Continue on RN1 for about 140 kilometers until you reach Vakinankaratra. Once in Vakinankaratra, follow the local signs to Ladybird Lake (ಹೆಣ್ಣುಹಕ್ಕಿ ಕೆರೆ). The lake is located at the coordinates 4GJ9+R4R. Expect about 3 hours of driving time, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure to maintain speed limits and drive carefully, as the roads can be winding and may have potholes.

• Public Transportation

  Start at the main bus station in Antananarivo (Gare Routière). Look for a bus heading to Antsirabe, which is a common route. The bus ride will take about 2-3 hours and will cost around 5,000 to 10,000 MGA. Upon arriving at Antsirabe, take a local taxi-brousse (shared taxi) that heads toward Vakinankaratra. The taxi-brousse will drop you off near Ladybird Lake. Make sure to ask the driver to stop at the lake or provide directions. The total journey may take approximately 4-5 hours.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct and comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Antananarivo to Ladybird Lake. This is a more expensive option, typically costing between 100,000 and 150,000 MGA. The driver will take you directly to the lake, and the journey will take around 3 hours. It's advisable to negotiate the price before starting your journey.
