Car
From the center of Antananarivo, take Route RN1 south towards Antsirabe. Continue on RN1 for approximately 120 kilometers until you reach the town of Antsirabe. From Antsirabe, take Route RN34 heading east for about 25 kilometers until you reach the village of Betafo. At Betafo, look for signs directing you towards the Ankaratra mountain range. Follow the local roads that lead you toward Tangorombohitr' Ankaratra, which is located in the highlands. Ensure your vehicle is equipped for mountainous terrain. Parking may be limited, so arrive early to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
Start your journey at the main taxi-brousse station in Antananarivo. Look for a taxi-brousse heading to Antsirabe. The fare is usually around 10,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary) and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. Once you arrive in Antsirabe, transfer to another taxi-brousse going to Betafo, which should cost around 5,000 MGA and take an additional 30 minutes. From Betafo, you may need to hire a local taxi or seek a guide to take you to Tangorombohitr' Ankaratra, as public transportation does not reach the mountain directly. Expect to pay around 20,000 MGA for this part of the journey.
