To reach the Colburn House State Historic Site from downtown Augusta, start at the Augusta Transit Center located at 16 Cony Street. Take the Kennebec Explorer public transit bus heading towards Gardiner. The bus will make a few stops; stay on until you reach the Pittston Town Hall stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.2 miles to Colburn House. Head east on Route 27 (Main Street) and follow it until you reach Arnold Road. Turn left onto Arnold Road. The Colburn House will be on your right.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Augusta. Start your journey from the State Capitol building and head south on State Street, which turns into Route 27 (Main Street). Follow Route 27 for about 4 miles, then turn left onto Arnold Road. Continue straight, and you will find the Colburn House State Historic Site on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.

For a walking route, start in downtown Augusta and head south on State Street. Continue on State Street, which becomes Route 27 (Main Street).
