    If you are starting at the Augusta Civic Center, head southeast on Civic Center Dr toward Western Ave. Continue straight onto State St. After about 0.5 miles, you will see the Maine State Museum on your left at 230 State St. The museum is easily identifiable by its prominent entrance and sign.

    From the downtown Augusta bus terminal, take the #1 bus heading towards the State House. After approximately 5 minutes and two stops, get off at the State House stop. From there, you can walk northeast along State St for about 0.2 miles, and you will find the Maine State Museum on your left at 230 State St.

    If you are renting a bike, start from the Kennebec River Rail Trail. Ride north along the trail until you reach the intersection with Water St. Turn left onto Water St and follow it until it becomes State St. Continue on State St for about 1 mile, and the Maine State Museum will be on your right at 230 State St.
