Walking
Start your journey from the center of Bar Harbor, specifically from the Village Green. Head southeast on Main Street for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Eden Street. At the intersection, turn right onto Eden Street. Continue on Eden Street for approximately 0.3 miles. You will pass by various shops and restaurants on your left and right. Stay on Eden Street until you reach the entrance to Acadia National Park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs towards the Ocean Path. After about 1 mile of walking along the Ocean Path, you will arrive at the Bar Harbor Lighthouse, which is located on a small island. Enjoy the scenic views of the coastline and the lighthouse itself!
Bicycling
From the center of Bar Harbor, start at the Village Green and head east on Main Street. After about 0.2 miles, turn right onto Eden Street. Follow Eden Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance of Acadia National Park. Once inside the park, you can rent a bike at the park's bike rental station or bring your own. Follow the park road towards the Ocean Path. Continue riding for approximately 1 mile along the scenic route until you reach the Bar Harbor Lighthouse. This route offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
Public Transportation
While Bar Harbor does not have a direct public transportation route to the lighthouse, you can take the Island Explorer shuttle bus from various locations in Bar Harbor to the Acadia National Park Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, transfer to the Park Loop Road shuttle that stops at the Ocean Path. Get off at the stop for the Ocean Path, and follow the path for about 1 mile to reach the Bar Harbor Lighthouse. Check the Island Explorer schedule for bus times and routes.
