Bus
From Biddeford, head to the Biddeford Bus Terminal located at 1 Granite Street. Board the Metro Bus #5 heading towards Portland. The bus operates frequently, so you won’t have to wait long. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Ocean Gateway Terminal' in Portland. Once you get off, walk north along the waterfront until you reach the intersection with Congress Street. Turn left onto Congress Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Back Cove Trail.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Biddeford. Start on Main Street heading east, then take a right onto Alfred Street. Follow Alfred Street until you reach the Saco River. Cross the bridge into Saco and continue along the river until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow the bike lane north towards Portland. Once you reach Portland, follow the signs for Back Cove Trail, which will lead you to the trail entrance.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can take a leisurely stroll from Biddeford to Portland. Start at the Biddeford City Hall and walk east along Main Street until you reach the Saco River. Cross the river using the pedestrian bridge. Continue walking along the riverfront into Saco and follow the path along the water until you reach the Route 1 bridge. Cross the bridge into Portland, then head north to Back Cove Trail, which is easily accessible from the waterfront.
