Start from Biddeford City Hall, located at 205 Main St, Biddeford, ME. Head east on Main St towards Alfred St for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Pearl St. Turn left onto Pearl St and continue walking for about 0.2 miles. You will reach the Biddeford-Saco Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk south along the Saco River until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge into Saco, and continue walking straight onto Main St. After crossing the bridge, you will walk for about 0.5 miles until you see signs for Route 1 South. Continue on Main St, which becomes Route 1 South. Follow it for about 7 miles. You will enter Portland. Once in Portland, keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the Waterfront District. Custom House Wharf will be on your left after you pass Commercial St. The total walk is approximately 8 miles and will take around 2.5 to 3 hours.
Public Transit
From Biddeford City Hall, walk to the nearest Bus Stop at the corner of Main St and Alfred St. Board the York County Community Action Corporation (YCCAC) Bus Route 2 towards Portland. Stay on the bus for about 20-30 minutes until you reach the Portland Transportation Center. Once you arrive, exit the bus and head towards the street exit. Walk straight for about 0.2 miles on Congress St until you reach the intersection with Franklin St. Turn right onto Franklin St, then take a left onto Commercial St. Continue walking for about 0.3 miles, and Custom House Wharf will be on your right. The total journey will take approximately 1 hour.
Biking
From Biddeford City Hall, take Main St heading east for about 0.3 miles until you reach Pearl St. Turn left onto Pearl St and continue for 0.2 miles until you reach the Biddeford-Saco Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk south for approximately 1 mile until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge into Saco, and continue on Main St which becomes Route 1 South. Stay on Route 1 South, biking for about 7 miles until you enter Portland. Upon entering Portland, follow the signs for the Waterfront District. Custom House Wharf will be located on your left after passing Commercial St. This biking trip will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
