Getting There

• Public Bus

  From downtown Brunswick, head to the nearest bus stop located on Maine Street. Take the Metro Breez bus towards Bath. It will take you approximately 25 minutes to reach the Bath Transfer Station. Once at the Bath Transfer Station, switch to the Mid-Coast Public Transportation bus heading to Bailey Island. This bus will take you directly to Bailey Island. After arriving, follow the signs towards the Halfway Rock Light Station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in Brunswick. Start your journey by heading south on Maine Street towards Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow it for about 5 miles. You will pass through some beautiful coastal scenery. When you reach the bridge that leads to Bailey Island, take a right onto Bailey Island Road. Follow this road until you reach the Halfway Rock Light Station. The ride will take around 40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, begin at the town center of Brunswick. Head south on Maine Street until you reach Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and continue walking for about 5 miles. Be cautious as this route has some traffic but offers stunning views of the coast. Once you reach the bridge that connects to Bailey Island, take a right onto Bailey Island Road. It's a 1.5-mile walk along this road to reach the Halfway Rock Light Station. This journey will take approximately 1.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the scenic views.
