Starting from the South Portland Public Library, head south on Broadway towards the intersection with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street and continue walking until you reach the bus stop at the corner of Main Street and Cottage Road. Here, you can catch the Metro bus #21 towards Cape Elizabeth. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes, and get off at the stop for Shore Road. From there, walk east on Shore Road for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Fort Williams Park. Battery Knoll is located within the park area, offering scenic views of the ocean.

If you are renting a bike, start at the South Portland Community Center. Head southeast on Broadway until you reach the intersection with the Greenbelt Walkway. Turn right onto the Greenbelt and follow the path toward the waterfront. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with Shore Road. Turn left onto Shore Road and continue for 1.5 miles. Battery Knoll is located within Fort Williams Park, where you can park your bike and explore the area.

From the South Portland Historical Society, walk to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of Ocean Street and Broadway. Board the Metro bus #21 heading towards Cape Elizabeth. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes, then disembark at the stop for Fort Williams Park. Once you arrive, follow the signs to Battery Knoll, which is located within the park grounds. The walk to Battery Knoll from the bus stop is about 10 minutes.
