If you are driving from Bar Harbor, take ME-3 North towards Trenton. Continue on ME-3 until you reach US-1 in Ellsworth. Merge onto US-1 North and follow it for about 12 miles until you reach the exit for ME-172 towards Hancock. Follow ME-172 until you see the signs for Carters Beach Rd. Turn left onto Carters Beach Rd, and the beach will be on your right after a short drive. Parking is available close to the beach, and there may be a small fee for parking during peak season.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Downeast Transportation bus service from Bar Harbor or Ellsworth. Check the schedule in advance as the service may be limited. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop in Hancock, you will need to walk or use a rideshare service to reach Carters Beach. The beach is approximately 1.5 miles from the bus stop, so be prepared for a short walk. Alternatively, consider arranging for a taxi or rideshare app to pick you up from the bus stop for convenience.
