Getting There

Walking
From the center of Kennebunkport, start at the Kennebunkport Village Green. Head east on Maine Street towards the intersection with Ocean Avenue. Continue on Ocean Avenue until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the road as it becomes Route 9 (also called North Street). Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and walk for about 2 miles. You will see a sign for Portland on your right. Follow the signs for Route 295 North toward Portland. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the Portland Observatory, located at 138 Congress St, Portland, ME.

Public Transport
From Kennebunkport, walk to the nearest bus stop on Route 1 (located on Main Street). Take the York County Community Action bus service (YCCAC) towards Portland. The bus will take you directly to the Portland Transportation Center. Once you arrive at the Transportation Center, transfer to the Metro bus service and take the Route 7 bus towards the East End. Get off at the stop for Congress Street. Walk a short distance to 138 Congress St, where the Portland Observatory is located.
