Car
If you are driving from downtown Rockland, head south on Main St/US-1 S for about 20 miles. Continue on US-1 S until you reach the junction with ME-77 S in South Portland. Take the exit toward Cape Elizabeth, then merge onto ME-77 S. Follow ME-77 S for approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto Bunker Lane. Fort Preble will be on your right after a short drive.
Public Transportation
From the Knox County area, you can take the bus operated by the Maine Department of Transportation. Board a bus heading toward Portland. Once you arrive at the Portland Transportation Center, transfer to the South Portland bus (Metro Bus line). Take the Metro Bus towards South Portland and disembark at the stop closest to Bunker Lane. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 0.5 miles) to Fort Preble.
Biking
For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike from downtown Camden. Head south on ME-105, then take a left onto US-1 S. Follow the bike lanes alongside the highway. Continue until the junction with ME-77 S, then turn right onto Bunker Lane. The bike ride is approximately 15 miles and will take about 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
Walking
If you are staying in South Portland, you can walk to Fort Preble. From the South Portland Public Library, head south on Broadway, then turn left onto ME-77 S. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Bunker Lane. Fort Preble will be just a short walk down the road.
