Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Kennebunkport, head east on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 9 (also known as Ocean Avenue). Turn left onto Route 9 and continue walking for about 1.5 miles. You will pass several shops and eateries along the way. Once you reach the intersection with Route 1, turn right and continue north for approximately 5 miles. You will soon see signs for Portsmouth, NH. As you enter Portsmouth, turn left onto Hancock Street, and the Strawbery Banke Museum will be on your right at 14 Hancock St.

• Public Transport

  From Kennebunkport, walk to the nearest bus stop on Route 1 (approximately 0.5 miles from the center). Take the York County Community Action bus (line 4) towards Portland. After about a 30-minute ride, get off at the Portsmouth stop. From there, walk south on Market Street until you reach the intersection with Hancock Street. Turn left, and you will find the Strawbery Banke Museum at 14 Hancock St.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from a local shop in Kennebunkport. Start on Main Street heading east until you reach Route 9 (Ocean Avenue). Turn left onto Route 9 and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Once you reach Route 1, turn right and continue north for about 5 miles. As you approach Portsmouth, look for Hancock Street on your left. Turn onto Hancock Street, and the Strawbery Banke Museum will be on your right at 14 Hancock St.
