Once you arrive at the Freeport bus station, walk about 0.5 miles to Desert of Maine by heading west on Main St, then turning right onto Desert Rd.

From downtown Portland, you can rent a bicycle at one of the local bike rental shops. Follow the Eastern Promenade Trail, which offers a beautiful ride along the coast. After about 7 miles, you'll merge onto Route 1. Continue on Route 1 for another 5 miles until you reach Freeport. From there, head east on Desert Rd for about 1 mile to reach the Desert of Maine.
