Walking
If you are starting from the Old Port area, head northeast on Fore Street towards the intersection with Exchange Street. Continue on Fore Street until you reach the intersection with Middle Street. Turn left onto Middle Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Congress Street. Turn right onto Congress Street. Continue straight until you reach Boothby Square, which will be on your left. Keep an eye out for the green space and benches where locals often relax.

If you are near the Portland Transportation Center, take the Metro bus line 1 towards 'Maine Mall'. Get off at the stop 'Congress St + State St'. From there, walk east along Congress Street until you reach the intersection with Middle Street. Turn left onto Middle Street and continue until you reach Boothby Square on your left. It’s a short walk and you’ll get to enjoy the local architecture along the way.

If you have access to a bike, start from the waterfront area in the Old Port. Head east on Commercial Street and take the bike path along the waterfront. Continue until you reach the intersection with Franklin Arterial. Turn left onto Franklin Arterial and then immediately right onto Congress Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Middle Street, then turn left. Boothby Square will be on your left. Biking is a great way to see the city and enjoy the fresh air!
