Walking
Start at the Rockland Harbor and head north along the waterfront. Continue on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Mechanic Street. Turn left onto Mechanic Street and continue until you reach Route 1. Cross Route 1 carefully and follow the signs for Camden, which is approximately 8 miles away. Once you reach Camden, look for Mountain Street, which leads to the Mount Megunticook trailhead. The hike to the summit will take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
Public Transportation
From downtown Rockland, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Lincolnville/Maine State Ferry bus. Make sure to inform the driver that you are heading to Camden. The bus will take you through scenic areas and drop you off in Camden. From the bus stop in Camden, follow Mountain Street to the Mount Megunticook trailhead. The entire journey may take around 30-45 minutes depending on the bus schedule.
