Getting There

• Walking

  From downtown Rockland, head east on Main Street (Route 1). Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Mechanic Street. Turn left onto Mechanic Street and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will reach a T-junction with Camden Street. Turn right onto Camden Street and follow it for about 2.5 miles. As you approach Camden, look for signs for Camden Hills State Park. The entrance to the park will be on your left. Once inside the park, follow the signs for Mt. Battie Tower, which is a short hike from the parking area.

• Biking

  If you have a bicycle, you can take a scenic ride from Rockland to Mt. Battie Tower. Start at Main Street in Rockland and ride east towards Camden. After about 0.5 miles, take a left onto Mechanic Street, then a right onto Camden Street. Continue biking along Camden Street for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach Camden Hills State Park. Once you enter the park, follow the designated bike paths to the Mt. Battie Tower trailhead. The biking route offers beautiful views along the way!

• Public Transport

  To reach Mt. Battie Tower using public transportation, first, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street in downtown Rockland. Take the local bus service (check the schedule for Camden) towards Camden. Once you arrive in Camden, you can either walk or take a taxi to Camden Hills State Park. The park entrance is about 1 mile from the bus stop. After entering the park, follow the signs to Mt. Battie Tower, which is a short hike from the parking area.
