Walking
From the center of Saco, head south on Main Street toward the Saco River. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Beach Street. Turn left onto Beach Street and follow it until you reach the train station. Once there, you can take the Amtrak Downeaster train to Portland. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving in Portland, exit the train station and walk northwest on Franklin Street toward Congress Street. Turn left onto Congress Street and continue walking until you reach 138 Congress St, where the Portland Observatory is located.

From Saco, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street and catch the Biddeford-Saco-Old Orchard Beach bus (line 5) to the Portland Transportation Center. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Portland Transportation Center, exit the station and head north on Franklin Street. Turn left onto Congress Street and walk straight until you reach 138 Congress St, where the Portland Observatory is located.
