Ferry
To reach Battery Steele, start by making your way to the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal located at 56 Commercial Street in Portland. From South Portland, you can take a bus (Metro Bus Route 1) to the Old Port area of Portland, which takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you reach the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the Peaks Island ferry. The ferry ride lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. Upon arrival at Peaks Island, disembark and follow the signs towards Battery Steele, which is located a short walk from the ferry terminal.
Walking
After you arrive at Peaks Island via the ferry, exit the terminal and turn left onto Island Avenue. Walk straight for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Seashore Avenue. Turn right onto Seashore Avenue and continue along the coastal path until you reach Battery Steele, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Enjoy the scenic views of the ocean while you walk!
