If you're starting from downtown South Portland, walk to the nearest bus stop for the South Portland Bus Service. Take Bus Route 21 towards Portland. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Commercial St + Franklin St' stop. From there, you'll be close to the waterfront. Walk towards the East Promenade, and follow the waterfront path until you reach the ferry terminal.

For those who prefer walking, if you are in downtown South Portland, head towards the Casco Bay Bridge. Cross the bridge on foot, which will take you about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Portland, continue straight towards the waterfront until you reach the ferry terminal. From there, you can take a ferry to Fort Gorges.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the South Portland Community Center and head towards the Greenbelt Walkway. Follow the Greenbelt path towards the waterfront, which will lead you directly to the ferry terminal in Portland. This route is scenic and will take about 20-25 minutes. Once you reach the ferry terminal, you can catch a ferry to Fort Gorges.
