    From downtown South Portland, head to the South Portland bus terminal located at 100 Waterman Drive. Take the Metro Bus Route 21 towards Scarborough. The bus will take you directly to Old Orchard Beach. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Old Orchard Beach stop, you will be within walking distance of the beach and various attractions.

    If you're up for some exercise, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in South Portland. Start from the South Portland Community Center, located at 21 Nelson Rd. Head southeast on Nelson Rd, then turn left onto Broadway. Follow Broadway until you reach the Eastern Promenade Trail, which will take you towards Scarborough. Continue on the trail until you reach Old Orchard Beach. The ride is approximately 8 miles and offers beautiful views along the way.
