Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start on Route 27 in Sugarloaf Mountain. Head south on Route 27 towards Carrabassett Valley. After approximately 10 miles, you will reach the intersection with West Mountain Road. Turn left onto West Mountain Road. Continue for about 2 miles until you reach a small parking area at the trailhead for the Appalachian Trail. Park your car here. The AT Campsite is approximately a 1.5-mile hike from this point. Follow the Appalachian Trail northbound, and you will arrive at the campsite.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to the AT Campsite. However, you can take a bus to the nearest major town, which is Farmington, Maine. From there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Sugarloaf Mountain. Once in Sugarloaf, you will still need to hike to the campsite as detailed above.
