Getting There

After approximately 10 miles, you will reach the intersection with West Mountain Road. Turn left onto West Mountain Road. Continue for about 2 miles until you reach a small parking area at the trailhead for the Appalachian Trail. Park your car here. The AT Campsite is approximately a 1.5-mile hike from this point. Follow the Appalachian Trail northbound, and you will arrive at the campsite.

  • Public Transportation

    Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to the AT Campsite. However, you can take a bus to the nearest major town, which is Farmington, Maine. From there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Sugarloaf Mountain. Once in Sugarloaf, you will still need to hike to the campsite as detailed above.
