Car
From Cape Maclear, head north on the M5 road. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Turn left towards Mkaika. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Buwa. Upon reaching Mkaika, navigate to the coordinates P8W2+7JC, which is the exact location of Buwa. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited fuel stations along the way.
Public Transportation
To reach Buwa from Cape Maclear using public transportation, first take a shared minibus (matola) from Cape Maclear to Mangochi. This ride will cost around 1,000 MWK and typically takes about 30 minutes. Once in Mangochi, you will need to transfer to another minibus heading towards Mkaika. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 500 MWK. After you arrive in Mkaika, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the coordinates P8W2+7JC, which is where Buwa is located. Be sure to confirm the taxi fare before starting your journey.
