Car
If you are driving from the center of Kasungu Plain, head south on the main road (M1) towards Kasungu town. Continue straight for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction near Kasungu town. Look for the sign directing you to Kasungu Dam. Turn right and follow the road for another 10 kilometers. As you approach, you will see signs for KASUNGU DAM. Make sure to have a map or GPS device as some local road signs may be limited.
Public Transport (Minibus)
From the main bus station in Kasungu Plain, take a minibus heading towards Kasungu town. The fare is typically around 500 MWK. Once you arrive at the Kasungu town bus station, look for a minibus going to Kasungu Dam. These minibuses frequently depart from the main station, but if you don’t see one, you may need to wait or ask locals for assistance. The ride will take about 45 minutes, and the fare should be around 1,000 MWK. Upon arrival at the Kasungu Dam area, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the dam itself.
Walking
If you are staying nearby or after arriving by public transport, you may choose to walk to KASUNGU DAM. From the nearest minibus drop-off point, follow the local paths towards the dam. Be sure to ask locals for directions, as they can provide the best routes. The walk may take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace, and it's a great way to enjoy the landscape of the Kasungu Plain.
