Car
From Lilongwe city center, head southwest on Kamuzu Procession Road (M1) for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction to Nkhoma Mountain. You will turn left onto the road leading to Nkhoma Mountain once you reach the junction at X3GR+55R. Continue driving for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Nkhoma Mountain. There may be a small fee for parking at the site.
Public Transportation
From Lilongwe city center, take a minibus (also known as a 'daladala') heading towards Nkhoma or Ntchisi. These minibuses depart from the main bus station in the city. Inform the driver that you want to go to Nkhoma Mountain, and they will drop you at the nearest point. From there, you might need to walk about 2 kilometers to reach the entrance of Nkhoma Mountain. It's advisable to negotiate the fare with the minibus driver, which typically costs around 500 to 1,000 Malawian Kwacha.
Taxi
For a more comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Lilongwe city center to Nkhoma Mountain. The journey will take about 30 minutes, and you should expect to pay between 5,000 to 10,000 Malawian Kwacha for a round trip, depending on your negotiation skills and the taxi company. Ensure to confirm the return ride with the driver if you are planning to come back to the city after your visit.
