Getting There

Car
If you are driving from within Majete Wildlife Reserve, head towards the main entrance of the reserve. Once you exit the reserve, continue on the road towards Chikwawa. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach Kapichira Road. Turn left onto Kapichira Road, and continue for approximately 5 kilometers. St. Thomas Lodge will be on your left. Look for the signpost indicating the lodge.

To reach St. Thomas Lodge via public transport, first, you need to get to the nearest bus station in Chikwawa. You can take a minibus from Blantyre to Chikwawa, which operates frequently throughout the day. Once in Chikwawa, you can hire a taxi or a local motorcycle taxi (known as 'choppa') to take you to Kapichira Road. Inform the driver that you are going to St. Thomas Lodge, and they will know the location. The taxi ride should take about 20 minutes and may cost around 1,500 to 2,000 MWK.
