From the center of Mangochi, head east on the main road (Likangala Road) towards Namwera. This road will take you directly towards Namwera, which is approximately 12 kilometers away. As you walk, you will pass local shops and residences. Make sure to keep an eye out for any signposts indicating Namwera. Upon reaching Namwera, continue straight until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left fork, which leads towards Fort Mangochi. The fort is located a short distance from this point, and you will see signs indicating its location. Follow these signs until you arrive at Fort Mangochi.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Mangochi. Start by riding east on Likangala Road towards Namwera. The ride should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your speed. As you approach Namwera, keep an eye out for the fork in the road. Take the left fork to head towards Fort Mangochi. The fort is situated just a bit further along this road; look for signage directing you to the site as you cycle.

Public Transport (Minibus)
From the main bus station in Mangochi, take a minibus heading to Namwera. The minibuses are frequent and will take you directly to Namwera. Once you arrive in Namwera, ask the driver or locals for directions to Fort Mangochi. You can walk from the drop-off point; it will be approximately a 1-2 km walk. Follow the signs or ask for directions to the left fork in the road, which leads you towards Fort Mangochi.
