Walking
Starting from the center of Mangochi, head south on the main road (Zomba-Mangochi Road). Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the road leading towards Mpira Dam. Turn left onto this road, which is marked with local signs directing to the dam. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the dam area.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle in Mangochi town. Begin your journey by cycling south on Zomba-Mangochi Road for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for the junction that leads to Mpira Dam and take a left turn. Continue cycling on the Mpira Dam road for around 2 kilometers until you arrive at the dam.
Public Transport (Boda Boda)
Find a Boda Boda (motorcycle taxi) in Mangochi town. Inform the driver you want to go to Mpira Dam. They will take you south on Zomba-Mangochi Road and then turn left at the junction towards Mpira Dam. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
