Getting There

Car
If you are travelling by car, start from the center of Mchinji town. Head south on the main road (M1) for about 10 km until you reach the signpost for Mchinji Highlands. Turn left onto the dirt road leading towards the highlands. Continue driving for approximately 7 km, and you will see signs guiding you to Mchinji mountain summit. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area near the trailhead. The last part of the journey will require hiking to the summit.

Public Transportation
To reach Mchinji mountain summit using public transportation, take a minibus from Mchinji town heading towards Mchinji Highlands. The fare should be around 500 MWK. Inform the driver you wish to disembark at the trailhead for Mchinji mountain. After about a 30-minute ride, the driver will drop you off near the dirt road leading to the highlands. From there, you’ll need to walk about 7 km to the summit. Make sure to ask locals for directions if you're unsure.
