After approximately 65 kilometers, you will reach the town of Mulanje. As you enter the town, follow the signs towards the Mulanje Mountain Cultural Centre. This will take you to the base of the mountain where you can find information and guides.

For those using public transportation, take a minibus from Blantyre to Mulanje. These minibuses depart frequently from the main bus station in Blantyre. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around 1,500 MWK (Malawian Kwacha). Once you arrive in Mulanje, request to be dropped off at the Mulanje Mountain Cultural Centre. This is the best starting point for your hike.
