Getting There

    If you're traveling by car, start from Blantyre, which is approximately 65 km away from the Mulanje Mountains. Take the A6 highway south towards Mulanje. After about 45 km, turn onto the road that leads directly to Mulanje town. Continue straight until you reach the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Area entrance, where you'll pay an entrance fee (typically around 1,000 MWK for locals and 5,000 MWK for foreigners). Once inside, follow the signs or maps available to navigate to popular hiking trails like Lichenya or the Plateau.

  • Public Transportation (Matola)

    To reach Mulanje by public transport, head to the Limbe bus station in Blantyre and take a minibus (matola) heading to Mulanje. The fare is usually about 1,000 MWK.
