Walking
From Nkhata Bay town center, head south towards the main road (M5). Once you reach the M5, turn left and walk along the road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and the Nkhata Bay market. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Chimboyera. After another 1 kilometer, you will see a sign for Chitewe Mountain on your right. Follow the path that leads up the mountain. The hike is steep in parts, so be prepared for a moderate trek.
Local Transport (Dala-Dala)
From the center of Nkhata Bay, find the dala-dala station near the market. Board a dala-dala heading towards Chimboyera. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Chimboyera turn-off. Once you get off, follow the path leading up to Chitewe Mountain. The trail is well-marked, but you may want to ask locals for directions if you are unsure.
