Getting There

Walking
Start at the Nkhata Bay bus station. Exit the station and head southeast on the main road (M5). Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Nkhata Bay waterfront. As you approach the waterfront, you will see local vendors and a beautiful view of Lake Malawi. Keep walking along the shoreline, and after about 300 meters, you will notice a small path leading uphill towards Kamwala. Follow this path for approximately 500 meters until you reach Kamwala, which will be marked by local signage.

Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near the Nkhata Bay bus station. Once you have your bike, start cycling on the main road (M5) heading southeast. Continue for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the waterfront. At the waterfront, keep cycling along the lakeshore for about 300 meters. Look for a small path leading uphill; cycle up this path for about 500 meters. You will arrive at Kamwala, which is located at the top of the path.

Local Transport (Boda Boda)
Find a local Boda Boda (motorcycle taxi) near the Nkhata Bay bus station. Tell the driver you want to go to Kamwala. They will take you along the main road (M5) heading southeast for about 1.5 kilometers. You will be dropped off at the waterfront. From there, you can either walk along the lakeshore or ask the Boda Boda driver to take you up the small path leading to Kamwala. If you walk, it’s about 800 meters from the waterfront. If you take the Boda Boda, it will be a quick ride up the path.
