Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Nkhata Bay, head towards the waterfront area. Walk along the lakeshore road until you reach the Nkhata Bay bus station. From there, ask locals for directions to a minibus that goes towards Mzuzu, as Kaya Gardens is located closer to Mzuzu. Once you board the minibus, inform the driver that you are going to Kaya Gardens. The minibus will take you along the main road towards Mzuzu. After about 30-45 minutes of travel, you will need to get off at the nearest point to Kaya Gardens, which is close to the junction near Moyale. From the drop-off point, you can either walk approximately 15 minutes or ask a local for further directions to reach Kaya Gardens.

• Bicycle

  If you are able to rent a bicycle in Nkhata Bay, you can cycle along the lakeshore road. Head north from the town center, following the road signs towards Mzuzu. The ride will take you through some beautiful landscapes, and after about an hour, you'll reach the vicinity of Kaya Gardens. Make sure to ask locals for the exact location as you approach Mzuzu.

• Local Transport (Minibus)

  From your accommodation in Nkhata Bay, make your way to the main road where minibuses commonly stop. Board a minibus heading towards Mzuzu. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off near Moyale, which is the closest drop-off point to Kaya Gardens. Once you get off, you can either walk or ask for directions to Kaya Gardens, which is about a 15-minute walk from the junction.
