From the center of Nkhata Bay, head towards the main road (M5). Once you reach the M5, turn left and follow the road as it curves along the lake. Keep walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for Mzimba. Continue on this road, which will take you slightly uphill. After about 5 kilometers, watch for a sign directing you to Lunyangwa Dam. Follow this road, which will lead you directly to the dam.

Start from the Nkhata Bay market area. Rent a bicycle from a local shop if you don't have one. Head towards the M5 highway and turn left. Cycle along the lakeshore road for about 1.5 kilometers.
