Walking

From the center of Nkhata Bay, head towards the main road (M5). Once you reach the M5, turn left and follow the road as it curves along the lake. Keep walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for Mzimba. Continue on this road, which will take you slightly uphill. After about 5 kilometers, watch for a sign directing you to Lunyangwa Dam. Follow this road, which will lead you directly to the dam.

Bicycle

Start from the Nkhata Bay market area. Rent a bicycle from a local shop if you don't have one. Head towards the M5 highway and turn left. Cycle along the lakeshore road for about 1.5 kilometers. Once you reach the junction with Mzimba Road, take the left turn. Continue cycling for about 5 kilometers, and keep your eyes peeled for the Lunyangwa Dam sign. Follow the sign to reach your destination.

Public Transport (Minibus)

From the main bus station in Nkhata Bay, find a minibus heading to Mzimba. These minibuses are typically frequent. Once on the minibus, tell the driver that you want to go to Lunyangwa Dam. The driver will drop you off at the junction for Lunyangwa Dam, which is about 5 kilometers from Nkhata Bay. From the drop-off point, follow the signs to the dam, which is a short walk away.
