Walking
From the center of Nkhata Bay, head north along the lakeshore road (also known as the M5 highway). You will pass several local shops and eateries. Continue walking for approximately 6 km (about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace). As you walk, keep an eye out for signs indicating Bandawe. Once you reach the Bandawe area, continue walking until you see the sign for Rayoni Beach. The beach is located just off the main road, and you’ll need to take a short path leading to the water.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Nkhata Bay. Start at the lakeshore road and cycle north towards Bandawe. The distance is about 6 km, which should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Keep a lookout for signs towards Rayoni Beach. As you approach the Bandawe area, take the path leading towards the lake to reach the beach.

Boat
For a unique experience, consider taking a boat from Nkhata Bay to Bandawe. Head to the local boat dock located near the center of Nkhata Bay. Ask around for boats going to Bandawe, as they are often available. The boat ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bandawe, disembark and follow the local trails or ask locals for directions to Rayoni Beach, which is a short walk from the dock.
