Walking
Start your journey from the center of Zomba, near the Zomba Market. Head south on the main road (Chancellor Avenue) until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue. Turn left onto Victoria Avenue and continue walking until you reach the Zomba Central Hospital. From there, you will take a right turn onto a smaller road that leads towards the Lilomba area. Follow the signs towards Lilomba, and after about 30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the Malape Pillars, which are located in the Lilomba region. Make sure to ask locals for directions if you feel unsure, as they will be familiar with the area.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Zomba. Start at the Zomba Market and cycle south on Chancellor Avenue. When you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue, turn left and continue cycling towards Zomba Central Hospital. After passing the hospital, look for the sign indicating the direction to Lilomba. Follow this road for about 3-4 kilometers. The cycling journey should take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. Look out for the Malape Pillars on your left as you approach the Lilomba area.
