Car
If you're driving, start your journey from Kota Kinabalu. Head southeast on Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, then merge onto the Pan Borneo Highway (Federal Route 1). Continue on this highway for approximately 2 hours. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Kampung Melalia Sipitang'. Turn left onto Jalan Kampung Melalia which will lead you directly to Jalan Pan Borneo. The journey will take you through some beautiful rural landscapes, so enjoy the scenery!
Bus
To reach Jalan Pan Borneo by bus, head to the Bus Terminal in Kota Kinabalu. Look for a bus that travels towards Sipitang. The bus journey will take around 3 to 4 hours. Confirm with the bus driver or staff that they will drop you off near Kampung Melalia, as some buses may have different routes. Once you arrive at Kampung Melalia, you can ask locals for directions to Jalan Pan Borneo, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Taxi or Ride-sharing
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or a ride-sharing service such as Grab. This option is more costly but provides convenience. Start from your location in Kota Kinabalu and input 'Jalan Pan Borneo, Kampung Melalia Sipitang' in the app or tell the taxi driver. Expect to pay around RM 150 to RM 200 for the trip, depending on traffic conditions and time of day.
Car Rental
If you prefer to explore at your own pace, renting a car is a great option. Numerous car rental services are available in Kota Kinabalu. Rent a vehicle and follow the same directions as if you were driving your own car. Keep in mind that you will need to present a valid driver's license and may need to pay a deposit. The cost of rental varies, usually starting from RM 100 per day.
