If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town in Central Region, such as Kampar or Tapah. Head towards the North-South Expressway (E1) and take the exit for Ipoh (Exit 140). Follow the signs to Ipoh and continue on Jalan Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh (Route 1). Once you enter Ipoh, keep an eye out for signs directing you to the city center. At the roundabout near the famous Birch Memorial Clock Tower, take the first exit onto Jalan Dato' Onn Jaafar. Continue straight until you reach the Ipoh War Memorial, which will be on your left. There are limited parking spaces available on the roadside near the memorial.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus to Ipoh from nearby towns such as Kampar, Tapah, or even Kuala Lumpur. Buses frequently run to Ipoh's main bus terminal, Terminal Amanjaya. From the terminal, you can take a local taxi or Grab (a ride-hailing service) to the Ipoh War Memorial. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination, which is located at 30100 Ipoh, Perak. The taxi ride should take around 15-20 minutes and costs approximately RM 15-20.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of the city center, walking to the Ipoh War Memorial is a pleasant option. From the Birch Memorial Clock Tower, head west on Jalan Dato' Onn Jaafar. Continue walking for about 500 meters; you will pass by several shops and cafes. The memorial will be on your left at the junction with Jalan Sultan Idris Shah. It’s a straightforward walk, taking approximately 10 minutes.
