Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from major cities in East Malaysia such as Kota Kinabalu or Kuching. Drive to the nearest airport, like Kuching International Airport or Kota Kinabalu International Airport, and book a flight to Senai International Airport in Johor Bahru. From Senai International Airport, take the North-South Expressway (E2) and follow the signs towards Johor Bahru. Then, proceed to the Johor Strait, which is located just south of the city. The trip will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Note that you might incur costs for tolls along the expressway, which can range from RM 5 to RM 20.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a flight from Kota Kinabalu or Kuching to Senai International Airport in Johor Bahru. Upon arrival at Senai International Airport, you can either take a taxi or ride-sharing service to Johor Bahru city center, which costs around RM 30-50. From the city center, you can take a local bus, such as the Causeway Link bus, to reach the Johor Strait area. The bus fare is approximately RM 5-10. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary.

• Combination of Car and Ferry

  For a unique experience, you can also consider driving to a ferry terminal if you are in nearby regions. From Johor Bahru, you can drive to the Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal. Here, you can catch a ferry to nearby islands or destinations across the Johor Strait. The ferry fare typically costs around RM 15-30 per person, and the journey offers beautiful views of the strait. It's advisable to check the ferry schedules in advance and arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.
