Walking
If you are starting from the popular area of Armenian Street, head southeast towards Lebuh Pantai. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Jalan Penang. Turn left onto Jalan Penang and continue until you reach the junction with Stewart Lane. Turn right onto Stewart Lane, and the Straits and Oriental Museum will be on your left at number 20.

From the Penang Peranakan Mansion located at 29, Church Street, head northwest along Church Street. After about 5 minutes, turn right onto Lebuh Melayu. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Stewart Lane. Turn left onto Stewart Lane, and the Straits and Oriental Museum will be at number 20, just a short walk ahead.

If you are near the famous Komtar building, exit the building and walk towards Jalan Penang. Head towards the east on Jalan Penang for about 15 minutes. When you reach the junction with Stewart Lane, turn left, and you will find the Straits and Oriental Museum at number 20 on your left.

Starting from the Esplanade, walk towards the Fort Cornwallis. Once you reach Fort Cornwallis, head towards Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Jalan Penang. Turn left onto Jalan Penang, and then turn right onto Stewart Lane. The Straits and Oriental Museum will be at number 20 on your left.
