Dataran Pantai Teluk Mak Nik: A Coastal Gem in Terengganu

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Kuantan city center, head towards Jalan Besar and look for public transport options such as buses or taxis that can take you to the nearest bus terminal. From there, take a bus heading towards Chukai or Kemaman. Inform the bus driver that you need to stop at Kampung Geliga Besar. After about an hour's ride, disembark at the Kampung Geliga Besar stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Dataran Pantai Teluk Mak Nik. Head down Jalan Paksu, following the signs towards the beach until you reach the Dataran.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from local shops in Kuantan. Start by cycling along Jalan Besar towards Jalan Tanjung Lumpur. Continue on this road until you reach the coastal road that leads to Chukai. The distance is approximately 30 km, and it will take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Kampung Geliga Besar, follow Jalan Paksu until you arrive at Dataran Pantai Teluk Mak Nik.

• Public Transport

  From Kuantan, you can take the local bus service from Terminal Bas Kuantan to Chukai. Buses run regularly throughout the day. Upon arriving at Chukai, take a motorcycle taxi (grab bike) or a local taxi to the Dataran Pantai Teluk Mak Nik, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Make sure to show the driver the destination's name to avoid any confusion.
