If you are driving from any location in Pahang, head towards the East Coast Highway (E8). From Kuantan, take the E8 towards Kuala Lumpur. After approximately 40 km, take the exit towards Kuala Lumpur/Penang (E1). Continue on the E1 highway, following the signs for Penang. Expect to pay tolls along the way, which may total around RM 30. Once you reach the Penang Bridge, you will be charged a toll fee of RM 7.50 for crossing into Penang.
Bus
To travel by bus, head to Terminal Sentral Kuantan in Kuantan or any major bus station in Pahang. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to Butterworth, Penang. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and costs around RM 30. Upon arrival at Butterworth, you can take the ferry to Penang Island, which costs RM 7.70 for a passenger ticket. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes.
Train
For train travel, make your way to the nearest KTM station in Pahang, such as in Kuantan. Purchase a ticket for a train heading to Butterworth. The trip usually takes around 4 hours, and the fare is approximately RM 40. Once you arrive at Butterworth station, you can take the ferry to Penang Island for RM 7.70, which takes about 15 minutes.
