Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey by getting onto the North-South Expressway (E1) if you are coming from Kuala Lumpur or other locations in Peninsular Malaysia. Follow signs for 'Gombak' and take exit 330 for 'Gombak'. Once you exit, follow the signs to Batu Caves. You'll be driving along Route 1 (Jalan Batu Caves) which will lead you directly to Batu Caves. There is ample parking available near the entrance, but expect a fee of around RM 2-5 depending on the duration of your stay.
Public Transportation - KTM Komuter
For those using public transportation, take the KTM Komuter train from Kuala Lumpur to Batu Caves. Head to the KL Sentral station where you can board the Batu Caves line. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes and costs around RM 2. Once you arrive at the Batu Caves station, it’s a short walk of about 10 minutes to reach the main entrance of the caves.
Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Batu Caves. Buses leave from the Puduraya Bus Terminal. Look for the buses that are headed to 'Batu Caves' or 'Gombak'. The bus ride typically takes around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic, and costs approximately RM 2-3. Upon arrival, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance of Batu Caves.
