Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Kuala Besut, which is the main entry point for the Perhentian Islands. Drive towards the Kuala Besut Jetty (approximately 20 minutes). At the jetty, park your car in one of the designated parking areas. Keep in mind that parking fees may apply (around RM 10-20 per day). From the jetty, take a speedboat to Perhentian Island, which will take about 30 minutes. Make sure to buy your boat ticket in advance to avoid delays.

• Public Transportation

  If you’re using public transportation, take a bus from Kuala Lumpur or Kota Bharu to Kuala Besut. The bus journey will take approximately 6-8 hours. Once you arrive at the Kuala Besut bus station, head to the Kuala Besut Jetty, which is about a 10-minute walk. From there, purchase a speedboat ticket to Perhentian Island. The boat ride will take about 30 minutes. It's advisable to check the boat schedule in advance as the service may vary depending on the weather conditions.

• Boat Transfer

  Upon arriving on Perhentian Island, you can easily reach Rainforest Beach by taking a short hike. After disembarking from the speedboat, follow the main path leading away from the jetty. Look for signs pointing towards Rainforest Beach. The hike will take approximately 15-20 minutes, as you navigate through lush greenery. Wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven and slightly steep in places.
