Getting there

Car Rental

If you're driving from Kuala Terengganu, head towards the Merang Jetty, which is about a 45-minute drive (approximately 30 km). Follow the signs to Merang, and once you arrive at the jetty, park your car in the designated parking area. The parking fee is around RM 10 per day. From the jetty, purchase a ferry ticket to Redang Island, which costs approximately RM 55 to RM 75 for a round trip, depending on the season. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes to reach Redang Island.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transport, take a bus from Kuala Terengganu to Merang. Buses leave regularly from the Terminal Bas Kuala Terengganu and the fare is about RM 10. Once you arrive at Merang, follow the signs to the jetty. From here, you will need to purchase a ferry ticket to Redang Island for approximately RM 55 to RM 75 for a round trip. The ferry journey will take around 45 minutes.

Boat Transfer

Upon arriving at Redang Island by ferry, you may need to arrange for a boat transfer to Taaras Beach, which is located on the opposite side of the island. Some resorts offer direct boat services to Taaras Beach, so it’s advisable to check with your accommodation beforehand.
