Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the North-South Expressway (E1). If you're coming from Kuala Lumpur, take the E1 highway heading north. Continue on the expressway until you reach the exit for Kuala Kangsar (exit 140). Follow the signs towards Kuala Kangsar, and then proceed to the town of Gerik. From Gerik, follow the signs leading to Banding Island. As you approach Banding Island, you will find the entrance to Royal Belum Perak State Park. Note that there is a fee for entering the park, which is approximately RM30 for adults and RM10 for children. Make sure to carry cash as card payments may not be accepted.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Gerik. Buses to Gerik can be boarded at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). The bus ride takes about 5-6 hours. Once in Gerik, you can hire a taxi or a local ride-sharing service to take you to the entrance of Royal Belum Perak State Park. The taxi fare from Gerik to the park entrance is approximately RM50. Be sure to confirm the fare before getting in, and remember that entrance fees to the park will also apply.
Taxi
If you prefer a direct route, you can take a taxi from major towns such as Ipoh or Bagan Serai to Royal Belum. From Ipoh, the journey takes about 2.5 hours. The fare for a taxi from Ipoh to the park entrance is generally around RM150-200. Ensure that you negotiate the fare before starting your trip. This option provides a comfortable and hassle-free way to reach the park.
Motorbike
For adventurous travelers, renting a motorbike is an option. You can rent a motorbike in major cities like Ipoh or Kuala Lumpur. Follow the same route as cars, heading towards the North-South Expressway (E1) and then to Gerik. Ensure you have a valid motorcycle license and wear a helmet. The journey can be exhilarating, but be cautious of the road conditions. The entrance fee to the park will still apply.
